SpokesKIDS Jr. Bike Ride

Grades: Pre K-3
PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The idea behind the SpokesKIDS Jr. bike ride is to give elementary-school age children the chance to have as much fun as possible while riding their bikes to raise money for Pelotonia. www.facebook.com/SpokeskidsJR
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? The ride is for children in grades Pre-K through 3 and will be a part of a larger community celebration supporting Pelotonia.
WHERE WILL WE RIDE? It will begin at Wildwood Park and travel along the bike path. The route options include a choice between a 3-mile route and a 1-mile route for riders who may find the 3-mile route to be too long. Each will include a Pelotonia style rest stop with water, sports drinks, and fruit available. The ride will finish at the College Town House, where riders and their families will enjoy a post-ride celebration. Kids who cannot be with us on ride day will have the option to be a virtual rider.
WHAT ABOUT SAFETY? For safety purposes, all participants must wear a bicycle helmet and closed-toed shoes. Volunteers will monitor riders at all times.
WHAT IS THE COST? The $20 registration fee includes a T-shirt that riders will wear on the day of the ride. Thanks to our generous sponsors, all proceeds from the ride will be donated to Pelotonia. Riders can also raise funds above and beyond the registration fee.
