Gingerbread House Competition | Adult 18+| 2024

Gingerbread House Competition Rules 2024:

SIZE
Due to display space restrictions, the entry may not exceed 2 feet in height, width, or depth, including the base.

CONSTRUCTION
The contest is not restricted to houses; any type of building may be submitted. It is recommended that you submit your entry on a solid base, such as plywood. The main structure must be made entirely of gingerbread. All products used in the construction of the entry must be edible products, except for the base. Edible materials are not limited to sweets. No artificial display materials such as cardboard, styrofoam, or interior lighting, are to be used in the construction of the house. Candies must be unwrapped and free of any inedible materials. No glue or artificial adhesive may be used.

DELIVERY
Houses may be delivered to the ROBBINS HUNTER MUSEUM, 221 EAST BROADWAY on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4 BETWEEN 12:00 PM AND 4:00 PM (OR BY APPOINTMENT). Each entry must be registered for online or accompanied by its own entry form and entry fee. Each entry must have the competitors name and telephone number marked under the base.

DISPLAY
Entries will be on display at the Robbins Hunter Museum on December 7th during the Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour. A video tour of the gingerbread house display can be found on the GRD Facebook Pages. Votes can be cast for the People’s Choice Award during the Walking Tour or on-line December 7th - 13th using the link posted on the Website and Facebook page of the GRD.

JUDGING
Entries will be judged by an independent panel of culinary and artistically talented individuals. Each entry will be judged by age group based on Overall Appearance, Originality/Creativity, and Difficulty. The rulings of the judging panel will be final. Winners will be announced at the Candlelight Walking Tour. Votes can be cast for the People’s Choice Award during the Walking Tour or on-line December 7th-13th using the link posted on the GRD Facebook pages. People’s choice winner will be contacted the week of December 16.

PICK UP
Gingerbread House Pick Up is Monday, December 9 from 12:00-4:00pn at the Robbins Hunter Museum. Creations not picked up by 4:00pm on December 9th will be disposed of.
